I cant tell you how good their instructional guides and videos have been - I have mastered quiet a few tricks with there help, and would not be the rider I am today without it. That’s not a toothless plug either. The video below helped me master the backside 360, after trying for ages and plenty of falls. Why the mountains? The bitter cold.

You come from the land of endless beaches and eternal sunshine, you know.

Don’t you miss the water? She said…

I was 16 when I first tried it. Watched a crappy movie about it and then called my best friend up afterwards – dude, lets go to the snow. 2 weeks later we were there, poorly equipped with ill fitting clothing and armed with a sense of wonderment about what this adventure would bring.

The next day was appalling conditions, even for the bunny slopes. it was windy, cold, wet snow blowing at an almost horizontal angle across the J bar on which I found myself desperately clinging on, to ride up the miniscule beginners slope.

Every run down was a new lesson learned – they were costly lessons in this weather and the price you pay at peak season on Australian ski resorts. But I was thrilled. Despite the pain and the cold – my beanie fell off a few runs back and I didn’t have the $300 dragon goggles I have today – I didn’t have any and the snow was blowing past the lashes into squinted eyes.

Those first few days sparked a thrill in me I have only ever felt from a very few things. It dawned upon me soon after that I desired this feeling with all my person and I would chase it with all my energies. Since then I have have strapped a board upon my feet on many different mountains all across the world and it has been one wild ride. The desire to strap a board to my feet and fly down mountains has lead me to a lot of places around the world, and now its led me here. Enjoy the site. Enjoy the ride.
